Description
The term "enterprise of Alexandria" (operation G.A. 3) refers in Italian historiography to the raid conducted in the night between 18 and 19 December 1941 by six men of the Xª Flottiglia MAS of the Regia Marina, aboard three underwater assault vehicles (slow-moving torpedoes – SLC), which penetrated the port of Alexandria in Egypt and damaged with explosive warheads the two British battleships HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Valiant who lay on the bottom of the port. The tanker Sagona and the destroyer HMS Jervis were also damaged in the action.
